Job Summary and Qualifications

  SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* 

1* Ensure personal and department safety. 

2* Develops and adjusts individual patient's exercise prescription based on ACSM guidelines. 

3* Is proficient in use of all equipment and maintain/calibrate equipment. 

4* Initiates exercise teaching with inpatients and out patients. 

5* Initiates emergency measures per policy and procedure. 

6* Expands knowledge base of Cardiac Rehab through ongoing education. 

7* Assists with ongoing Quality Improvement. 

8* Keeps team members informed about individual patient's progress. 

9* Assists in marketing of Cardiac Rehab Program. 

10*Assists in planning and implementing risk factor modification education for both inpatients and outpatients.  


What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE 

Required - Experience in development and implementation of exercise programs. 

Preferred - Prior experience in Cardiac Rehab program. 

EDUCATION 

Required - Graduate of an accredited program in Exercise Physiology. 

ACLS Certification. 

Preferred - Master of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology; Certified by American College Sports Medicine. 

LICENSURE: 

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care
