Job Summary and Qualifications

The Application Engineer II develops web applications to support Parallon Application Services and the Shared Service Centers (SSCs).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze business and technical requirements to design, develop, test and deploy scalable application solution

Develop and maintain modern web applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based services using established engineering standards and design patterns.

Follow software development standards and best practices during all phases of planning and execution

Participate in application and solution design sessions, contributing to decisions related to application architecture, APIs, data, security, cloud services, scalability, and maintainability

Build and maintain solutions using CI/CD, source control, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices

Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, engineers, architects, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC

Has the ability to work in a high-paced, collaborative environment, following agile project management methodology, and to use related tools such as continuous integration, release management, and work tracking

Continuously improve technical knowledge across the organization's application, cloud, data, DevOps, and AI technology stacks and share relevant knowledge with team members.

TEHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Hands-on experience developing modern web applications using C#, .NET / ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, JSON, Entity Framework Core or equivalent ORM technologies

Experience developing modern front-end applications using Blazor, Angular, React, or similar JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, with strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript

Experience designing, developing, integrating, and consuming REST APIs and microservices, with familiarity with API security, authentication/authorization, versioning, and API documentation standards such as Swagger

Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, SQL Server, SPs, query optimization, indexing etc.

Familiarity with NoSQL, caching, and distributed data technologies such as Azure Cosmos DB and Redis.

Experience with Git-based source control and modern software development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, branching strategies, and automated build/deployment processes.

Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.

Working knowledge of cloud application development, preferably Microsoft Azure, including services such as Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault, Service Bus/Event Grid, API Management, and Application Insights, or equivalent cloud services

Familiarity with containerization and cloud-native development using Docker; exposure to Kubernetes

Understanding of secure software development practices, including authentication and authorization, secrets management, dependency management, vulnerability remediation, and best application security practices.

Experience implementing application logging, monitoring, telemetry, and troubleshooting using Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Open Telemetry, or comparable observability platforms. Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent coding assistants, with an understanding of appropriate validation, testing, security, and code-review practices for AI-generated code

Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical use in app development.

Exposure to event-driven and asynchronous application architectures using messaging technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Kafka, or equivalent platforms.
